PhoneView 7.0 introduces some powerful and unique capabilities that make testing Cisco UCM and UCCX very simple.
A key feature is the ability to register multiple Jabber soft phones from a single PC (Virtual Jaber Endpoint Support). Virtual Jabber devices make dial-plan testing quick and simple without having to stand-up physical phones for testing.
A perfect compliment to the Virtual Jabber Endpoint Support feature is the ability to login and set the state for Cisco UCCX Agents, with PhoneView 7.0 it is now possible to do this.
To enable this feature enter the UCCX server details against the relevant cluster(s) by clicking Group > Edit > 'Advanced Mode', open the UCCX Tab and enter the UCCX Server host details.
Once the UCCX Server has been set update the details from the cluster (Group > Update > ClusterName), as part of the cluster update a live connection will be established with UCCX to show/set UCCX Agent State.
Simply Right-Click on an agent phone (real or virtual Jabber device) then choose 'Agent Login' and enter the agent password. Once logged in Right-Click the device again and click 'Agent State' and then choose the relevant Ready/Not-Ready state.
The Agent State(s) are shown in the DataView and as an overlay icon in the ScreenView, as well as providing a summary of all UCCX agents in the Data Explorer.
By being able to stand-up multiple soft phone devices on a single PC and have some of those virtual endpoints login as agents this provides a single solution for End-to-end testing of UCCX. With PhoneView 7.0 it is now possible for a single PC to place multiple calls into a UCCX Queue, navigate the IVR and then accept the call at the relevant agent device.
