PhoneView supports Cisco IP Communicator (CIPC), however there are some additional considerations due to the nature of this soft phone.
- It may not be possible to reach CIPC's web server to obtain a screenshots if another application/service on the PC is using TCP Port 80
- It is recommended to enable CTI in PhoneView to control CIPC as this bypasses the web server limitation
- Versions of CIPC prior to 8.6 have been seen to crash when accessing the web server (i.e. taking a screenshot) therefore ensure you are using the latest version of CIPC
Note: By default CIPC devices are not imported from Cisco Communications Manager by default. In order to include them in PhoneView It's necessary to go to the Advanced Settings and tick the 'Include IP Communicator' check box then perform a group update.
