Make a backup of any PVD files (PhoneView Data file) you are currently using, these contain your cluster information and will be needed later.
For backing up your AutomationFX data, please refer to Article #360028496391.
1. Install PhoneView on new machine
Download the latest version of PhoneView from: https://www.unifiedfx.com/software-downloads/phoneview
Open the installer to start the process.
Once PhoneView finishes installing, click Finish (and the 'Launch PhoneView' checkbox).
2. Activate PhoneView on new machine
PhoneView has 2 main methods of activation: Online and Offline.
2a) Online Activation
After the installation, you will be prompted to request a trial or enter a product key. This guide is based on the presumption you are an existing customer moving their installation, so select 'Enter license key' and click OK.
On the next screen, here is where you enter your key,
Enter your key and click the Install button which will be available.
Your instance will be activated, showing your phone count and company information (and the Uninstall License button is available on Enterprise edition).
2b) Offline activation
The offline Manual Activation is outlined in the PhoneView Administration Guide from page 27 onwards.
If you are unable to get the Manual Activation prompt, raise a support ticket or contact support@unifiedfx.com for a static license file, quoting:
- your license key
- the MAC Address of the computer to be installed on
On the new PC , copy the supplied XML file has been received (and renamed to'license.xml' if required) to the following folders:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\UnifiedFX\PhoneView
AND
C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\UnifiedFX\PhoneView
Load up PhoneView again. Check the License section to confirm the change has been applied.
3. Load PVD file in PhoneView
Before you're able to install AutomationFX through PhoneView, load a .PVD file mentioned at the beginning, containing your cluster information by going to the File menu > Open and browsing to the config file's location.
Open this file is opened with your cluster configuration, the PhoneFX button will no longer be greyed out.
4. Install AutomationFX on the new target PC
Within PhoneView, press Control + Left Click on the PhoneFX button.
Please note: This button may not be visible at low resolutions, such as 800x600, please adjust the display resolution until it is.
This brings up the AutomationFX installation dialogue box. Click Install to start the process.
5. Stop the Current Service
The service must first be stopped to allow copying of the respective data sources.
On the New Machine:
Use the Start/Stop button within the PhoneView dialogue box.
On the existing Installation:
Open Windows Services, right click the AutomationFX service and Stop it.
6. Backup the AutomationFX Data files.
Refer to Article #360028496391.
7. Transfer the Data files to the new instance
From the backup location, copy the Datastore folder to this location:
C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\UnifiedFX\AutomationFX
For the .reg file, double click to be prompted to insert into the registry and click Yes. You may need administrative permissions to perform this.
8. Start the Service on the new machine
On the new Machine, open Windows Services again and start the AutomationFX Service.
Browse to the License page ( http://[IP Address]:[Port]/#/app/license ) and confirm activation.
Once the license is installed, this completes the instance transfer, confirm the details in Configuration > Clusters and check the Advanced section of one to confirm the login details have been retained from the old instance.
If everything has been kept and the details correct, you may uninstall AutomationFX from the old machine.
